The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) has created resources to give Texans access to data the agency collects about home insurance claims and premiums and home and auto rate filings.
“By putting this information online, we’re strengthening transparency and giving Texans a clearer picture of the claims being paid and premium amounts where they live,” said Texas Insurance Commissioner Amanda Crawford.

page shows the loss types and dollar amounts that companies paid out when Texans filed home insurance claims.
In 2025, insurance companies paid $8.74 billion in losses for wind and hail; water; fire; and theft, liability, and vandalism. Wind and hail have accounted for an average of 62% of homeowners losses since 2019.
