Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Hill of submitting fictitious or altered documents, along with misleading statements, to State Farm Fire and Casualty Co. in support of a homeowners insurance claim filed Dec. 5, 2025, in an attempt to obtain claim proceeds.
Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office arrested Hill on June 9. She was released on a $7,500 unsecured bond.
Commissioner Causey encourages North Carolinians to help keep insurance premiums low by reporting suspicious fraud. “Insurance fraud is not a victimless crime,” Commissioner Causey said. “It hits all of us in the pocket through higher premiums.”
